This mud mask is by far the best one I’ve tried in months! If you’re searching for a cheap mask that makes your skin looks clearer and your pores smaller, search no more. The Pores Be Pure Skin-clarifying Mud Mask is the first product I ever used by Formula 10.0.06 but it sure made me curious about the other products they have to offer.
First of all, how cute is the packaging? I think it’s one of those tubes you don’t wanna put out of sight because it looks that lovely. Formula 10.0.06 promises us a mask that “works on clogged pores, eliminates impurities and clarifies the skin”. I’ve already spilled the beans a bit on if whether they’ve kept their promise or not, haven’t I? Let’s say I’m pretty enthusiastic about this product.
When you open the tube, you notice the smell of strawberries. Pretty logical when you see the mud mask contains these berries. It also contains rosemary and we all know that does wonders to your skin! Time to put this to the test… The lilac consistency is yoghurt-like and it spreads out easily. The instructions specifically state to use a thin layer so I’m predicting this tube will be around for a few more months!
It doesn’t look like your average mud mask: once applied, it looks pink. After a minute or so, I experience a mild tingling feeling on my skin – not uncomfortable though. It’s not itchy and it doesn’t bother me. To me, it feels like it’s doing its job! After a couple of minutes, the mud mask begins to dry but once again, it doesn’t feel uncomfortable. Once the thing is fully dried (after approximately 10 to 15 minutes), it’s time to wash it off! Rinse your face well.
I’m definitely satisfied with the result. My skin feels clean and my pores seem smaller. I can see noticeable change and after a few uses (twice a week), I can honestly say my skin looks a lot better. It’s pretty good for your acne and it fights further breakouts!
It’s not all rainbows and sunshine though: there’s one little downside. I say little because almost every, if not every, mud mask I’ve tried so far has the same outcome. This strawberry, yarrow and rosemary mud mask leaves the skin around my eyes longing for some hydrating. It’s the driest area in my face and while this mask doesn’t make it any drier, it doesn’t moisturize it either.
Although the tube says it’s suitable for all skin types, I would definitely recommend this for people with a normal, oily or combination skin type (like me). However, I don’t think this is a good mud mask for dry or sensitive skin because it doesn’t hydrate and it contains alcohol which can irritate the more sensitive skin. You can get buy the Pores Be Pure Skin-clarifying Mud Mask at Walgreens, Ulta and various other stores for $5.99! I bought it at Kruidvat for €7.99.
