Yves Rocher is one of those shops I don’t visit a lot. However, when I got a coupon for a free tube of hand cream I decided to check them out again. Officially, it’s still winter and my hands can use the extra hydratation. If you want your hands to smell like cupcakes… Keep calm and read on!
Let’s start with the packaging! It’s the first thing you notice and I definitely like it when a product has those perfect little details. This tube is handier than, let’s say, the L’Occitane 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream. It’s made of hard plastic so it’s definitely a tube that your purse can handle! You don’t have to worry about things ripping it open and it’s the perfect size. One hand cream contains 30 ml. Bonus points for the pretty cute tube, even if it’s just a hand cream! Because of the flip lid, it’s easy to apply and control the amount of cream you want to get out of the tube. So far, so good!
The hand cream itself is white and has the normal hand cream consistency. For me, a little blob of cream was enough to hydrate both my hands. It sinks into your skin after less than 30 seconds which is great. The Vanilla-Lemon hand cream is easy if you’re an actual human being that does a lot of things and has no time to wait 10 minutes before the greasiness disappears. It moisturizes okay. It’s no Holy Grail hand cream but it’s a nice treat for your hands! I wouldn’t recommend this for people with really dry hands. Although it does an okay job for people who don’t have dry hands, it probably won’t be enough moisturizing for people who do.
I’m a sucker for things that smell delicious and now we’re getting to the best aspect of this hand cream. I’ve fallen in love with the amazing smell! It’s like your hands are two giant vanilla cupcakes with lemon frosting. I’m not exaggerating. Unfortunately, the smell only really lasts about half an hour. Too bad!
Is this an amazing, must-have hand cream? No, it’s not. The Vanilla-Lemon Hand Cream is an okay, budget-proof cream for people who need a little tube for in their purse. It’s available at Yves Rocher for €2,45.
