You may or may not remember my plea from a couple of weeks ago where I asked if you could vote for me in Grazia’s Fashion Bloggers competition. If you do, I want to thank you very much if you voted because I won! Three days ago I went to Schiphol, Amsterdam to claim my price: an amazing tablet, a lovely lunch and a little tour through the Microsoft building.
My journey started early in the morning with a cup of Java Chip Frappuccino. I was a little stressed out because they had already cancelled two trains of mine. Guys, don’t mess with a girl who hasn’t finished her first coffee of the day yet, okay? That’s torture. Luckily I managed to catch a train to Schiphol where I arrived safely and on time! Even though that place is huge I found Judith, the other girl who won, quickly.
Our place to be was this beautiful, modern building from Microsoft. Inside we got these awesome badges with our names on it that could do absolutely nothing but were still awesome because they had our names on it! We would join Lynnet and Lars, two very nice people from Microsoft, for lunch. They had this huge restaurant where we could pick whatever we wanted, Microsoft’s treat! I made me a salad with some vegetables, some bread, a glass of freshly pressed orange juice and a fruit salad. It was absolutely delicious and it was lovely to talk with Judith, Lars and Lynnet about our experience with Grazia and the Microsoft tablets we got to borrow during the Amsterdam Fashion Week.
After lunch, we got a little tour of the Microsoft building. It was interesting to hear about their way of working. Microsoft has this amazing, friendly work enviroment. Did you know that nobody, not even the big boss, has their own office? Everyone’s approachable that way! That’s pretty cool, if you ask me. I was pleasantly surprised by all the awesome things they got there: their own coffee lab, lockers painted with chalk paint (and a lot of drawings), big couches and so on! I really enjoyed the tour.
Le moment suprême, however, was the minute we got our tablets!
We assumed we would get the same ones as we got to borrow a couple of weeks ago but that wasn’t true. We got brand-new ones! We’re so incredibly lucky, I just can’t believe we got these awesome things. Say hello to our tablops! Or lablets. Whatever you prefer, the names are made up anyway, hihi.
It’s like a tablet and a laptop, all-in-one. You can bend the screen until it touches the bottom of the keyboard and use it as a tablet (when the two sides touch each other, the keyboard disconnects so you won’t do hiuo”é&efni’84nfe5fop the whole time). Or you can bend the keyboard as far as you like, using it as a supporting structure for your tablet. Or you can use it as a laptop. It’s really cool. If you follow Hilmar Mulder, editor-in-chief of the Dutch Grazia, on Instagram you may have noticed she has one too!
I’m very happy with it. Thank you so much Grazia and Microsoft! You gave me these incredible opportunities and I feel very lucky I got to do all these amazing things and have this amazing prize. You’re the best!
At the end of the day, I went back to Schiphol and I couldn’t resist doing some last-minute shopping. I’ve always wanted to shop in Victoria’s Secret so this was definitely a little dream that came true. I can’t be the only one with silly dreams like these, right? I bought this pink-striped make-up bag (yay!). If you want to eat Mediterranean cuisine, visit Per Tutti. Their ciabbatta’s are amazing! I tried the one with Prosciutto di Parma and pesto and it was too delicious to handle! As a dessert I bought a Cookie Monster cupcake at Cupcake Chic. Look at it, isn’t it cute? It was almost a shame to eat it. Almost.
As you can see, it really was an amazing day and I couldn’t be more thankful for the things that happened to me these past weeks! I feel very blessed. I hope you lovely ladies enjoyed reading about my day in Schiphol. Enjoy your week!
