We all know it – if there’s one set of eye brushes that every beauty guru seems to love, it’s the Starter Set from Samantha Chapman, one half of the Pixiwoo sisters. When I told my mom I would actually promise Pixiwoo my first-born, just so I could try these out, she got kind of worried and bought me these. And I’m just going to say it as it is, lovelies: I absolutely love these Real Techniques!

So this set contains five eye brushes and a case. I don’t know about you but I take my brushes in a bag with me at least twice a week so I can really appreciate a good case. I can’t be the only one, right? This one’s not the most sturdy but it’s okay, it’ll do the job. I’m not afraid that my brushes will break in my bag! I love the fact it’s also possible to make a stand out of your case by folding the case in two and pulling the drawstring in the back. Pretty cool, huh?
Just look at how beautiful these brushes are! There’s one base shadow brush, a deluxe crease brush, an accent brush, a pixel-point eyeliner brush and a brow brush. Pretty self-explanatory, really.
The deluxe crease brush is, for me, a little too big to define my crease but I can think of a bazillion other uses I can use this particular brush for. If you’re in the same boat as me, I suggest you try using this brush to apply cream eye shadows – it’s perfect.
The base shadow brush is for applying color to your lid. I like the fact this one is a little more fluffier than my other base shadow brushes. It’s an amazing brush and I love using it.
I’m a big fan of the accent brush. Did I say big? I mean HUGE. It’s perfect for highlighting your inner corners, applying a thin line underneath my lash line or smudging. This is definitely my favorite brush out of this bunch.
There’s just one brush I’m kind of disappointed in and that’s the pixel-point eyeliner brush. I’ve seen Sam use it in her videos and her eyeliner looks perfect. If I do it, I look like a panda. However I toss and turn this thing, my liner keeps looking thick and that’s definitely a look I can’t (and refuse to) pull off. The brush is just too thick. I guess I’ll just keep this for Halloween! Or Panda Day. You never know.
The brow brush is pretty much your usual angled brush. It’s a little bigger than two of my other eye brow brushes but somehow this speeds up my eye brow process. It’s a good brush and my eyebrows look pretty once filled in. I’m happy with it!
