Finding the perfect day cream is difficult, it’s one of those things you simply can’t Google. Every skin is unique and what works for me might not work for you. I’ve tried many day and night creams and never cared enough about any of them to buy them twice. Is the L’Oréal Sublimist Day Cream my long-expected game changer?
First things first – can we take a second to admire the beautiful packaging? The Sublimist day cream by L’Oréal literally looks like a real gem, thanks to the cute metallic pink lid and the glass pink container. After trying this out for a couple of weeks, I can say it tries to do its container justice but to call it a real gem? Hm…
I was sceptical when I started to use this product. I believe in okay day creams but a perfect one? No. The Sublimist day cream sure caught me by surprise on a couple of areas. It hydrates my extra dry skin (ugh, thanks winter) perfectly. My skin doesn’t feel/appear oily and absorbs the Sublimist day cream splendidly, making it the perfect base for my make-up. When applied, I find it easier to put on my BB cream in comparison to other day creams I’ve tried. The texture of the Sublimist day cream is quite light but I like it a lot.
So what didn’t I like about L’Oréal newest day cream? At the end of my longest days, I noticed my skin felt definitely not as moist as it was a couple of hours before. It’s nothing major, just not as hydrated as I would want my skin to be. Extremely long-lasting for ladies with dry skin? No. Another thing I missed was that subtle brightening effect some day creams have. Some creams just make your skin glow and look refreshed but L’Oréal, unfortunately, doesn’t.
In short, the l’Oréal is a more-than-okay daily moisturizer that makes applying make-up easier but isn’t long-lasting and complex-brightening. I’d give it three stars out of five! I’ll be finishing my jar as usual and continue my search for the perfect day cream.
Have you tried a day cream by L’Oréal before?
