If you’re lush for LUSH and you’re from Antwerp, you probably know that the store closed for a month today because they’re moving to a bigger store, 100 meters further. I was happy we still had two days the chance to check out the Valentine’s Day collection! My first impressions are truly, madly, deeply honest.
Close to You €9.95 – Tender is the Night €10.95
Let’s start of with my two favorites, two gorgeous massage bars. These two smell and feel amazing! The pink one with the vanilla heart, Close to You, fits right in your hand palm but is sure to conquer a space in your heart. Besides having the cutest name ever (look at me, being all romantic and stuff), it seems to have a ton of benefits. It’s made with a luxurious blend of different kind butters and oils and it feels soft. It just already feels like the perfect after winter skin care. The smell is ah-mazing. Personally, I think it’s smells like Snow Fairy. It has a sweet, bubblegummy smell!
Tender is the Night, the second massage bar, smells completely different. It smells like the most lovely combination between vanilla, jasmine and citrus. It’s made of an all-time skin-care favorite, shea butter, and murumuru butter. I would tell you my favorite of the two but I can’t choose. Why choose? Buy both. Like me. It’s a win-win. Kinda.
Prince Charming shower gel 100ml – €7.95
Prince Charming is, unfortunately, my least favorite. Don’t let the words ‘marshmallow’, ‘vanilla’ and ‘fresh pomegranate’ mislead you. Reading those words, I was expecting a sweet yet fruity smell. (Blooper: I typed sweaty first. Oops.) What I smelled was a more spicy, herbal scent. Somewhere hidden between the not-so-nice smell I noticed a subtle hint of something sweet, probably the vanilla. I may dislike the scent of Prince Charming but I’m sure it would be a very good shower gel if you’re into that kind of scents. A thumbs down from me though!
Neon Love soap 100g – €6.95
For their Valentine’s Day range LUSH introduced a brand-new soap called Neon Love. It’s bright pink and has little white hearts in it, very cute! But to be honest, this is the second disappointment in the collection. The fruity smell is okay but very subtle. Unfortunately, it’s too subtle. I like shower gels and soaps with a scent that lingers on my skin hours after showering but I’m pretty sure this one won’t do that. Too bad because the soap itself is pretty! Subtle scent lovers, this one’s for you. Filled with passion fruit and soya yoghurt.
Love Locket Ballistic €10.95
Let’s get excited again! The Love Locket bath bomb is the cutest thing ever. Smelling and quick-reviewing it now makes me regret not buying two. I haven’t tried it out yet but I can pinky-promise you this bath bomb is beyond lovely. The purple-ish pink Love Locket is a big
ass heart that’s as big as your hand. Sniffing this cutie is like smelling a bouquet of fresh flowers! This is definitely a product worth raving about.
The best part? Unlock the heart by cracking it in two and find another heart hidden inside. Use the hidden heart to create the ultimate love bath: it turns the water red and hundreds of little pink paper hearts come afloat. How incredibly romantic is that? The Love Locket is a little on the expensive side but hey, it’s totally worth it as it’s good for at least three baths. Technically, if you do the math, it’s even cheaper than most LUSH bath bombs. Take a bath with your sweetheart and you even save water. What about that, huh? We’re all cost-conscious adults here. Let’s save this planet.
Have you got the chance to check out the LUSH Valentine’s Day range yet? What were your thoughts?
Happy New Year, by the way. In LUSH-time it’s almost Valentine’s Day but hey , better late than never, right?
