So, I know it was a while ago that I completed my teatox but hey, I thought I could make a blog post of my final thoughts anyway! Check out my thoughts and catch up with my final review of the popular Bootea teatox.
How’s the Daytime Tea?
I loved the smell and taste of this one. Its taste isn’t completely like green tea but it definitely reminds me of that taste. I absolutely love green tea so the Daytime Tea was a success for me. I liked drinking it after a healthy breakfast and felt like the world’s healthiest fitness guru doing so.
How’s the Bedtime Cleanse?
Good news for the little mama’s who love enjoying a mojito! The Bedtime Cleanse from Bootea has a strong mint taste. If that’s not your cup of tea
(I had to take a moment to recover from laughing with my own little joke; I need help, don’t I?), you probably won’t be crazy about this tea. I don’t like teas, or anything for that matter, with a strong mint flavor. The Bedtime Cleanse was in my opinion drinkable, but I wouldn’t choose to drink this tea for my enjoyment.
How did I experience the teatox?
It all went very good. I thought I would need a Remembrall to remember drinking these teas twice a day but it actually became a part of my routine quickly and if I recall it right, I only forgot to drink twice. So that’s a pretty good score.
The teabags itself were easy to use (but how the hell could they duck up something as simple as that, right?) and the bags in which they came had a ziplock, making it easy to open and close it.
The so-called laxative effect that the Bedtime Cleanse tea would have… Didn’t experience it at all.
Another notable thing was the fact that my mouth was very dry in the mornings. Dehydrating much? Guess the weight loss they preach is all excess water.
How are the results?
Let’s get the facts straight. Bootea promises to, and I quote, “cleanse your body whilst significantly aiding weight loss and to remove unwanted toxins and built up waste matter, from your body via the lungs, kidneys, bowels and skin”.
I didn’t do this teatox for the weight loss but let’s talk about it. I know it sounds like a dream, to lose x kilos in two weeks, but let’s get another fact straight. Bootea says, and I’m about to go all Sherlock on you, “to stick to a clean, healthy diet and combine this with our Bootea teatox & an active lifestyle and you will still see results”.
With all due respect, I think the Bootea teatox in the sentence above is a bit unnecessary. Don’t get me wrong, I liked doing the teatox, but let’s put things into perspective. If you indeed stick to a clean diet and active lifestyle for two weeks, you’ll see results, regardless of you drinking a teatox.
Did I lose weight? Yes, I lost a kilo. Was it because of the tea? Probably not.
Did I feel any of the others benefits that a detox would give me? Yes and no. Yes, I experienced some – I did feel a bit more energized and I did feel healthier as before. But no, I don’t think these little changes are necessarily due to the tea. I don’t think I saw much change in my skin either. Blah.
So the harsh truth – if you’re planning to do this teatox for the spectacular weight loss or magically appearing abs, just skip this and buy a gym subscription instead.
What are your thoughts on these teatoxes? Do you think these teas are healthy for you?
