On the morning of Sinterklaas, exactly one year after its online release, I finally got my hands on the 3rd palette of the perhaps most famous make-up palette series ever. Urban Decay’s Naked 3 palette is considered a beauty must-have in the blogging community and they’re damn right. This gorgeous baby has 12 all-new rose-hued shades and believe me, they’re to die for. Take a look!
Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz, Trick, Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside, Blackheart
Urban Decay’s latest eyeshadow palette definitely stands out in the Naked series. While Naked 1 with its bronze colors and Naked 2 with its taupe colors were nothing unique in the world of eye make-up, I believe that Naked 3 is special. A whole palette with rosy shades, that was new.
$54 – Sephora
The quality of this palette is a lot like Naked 1 and Naked 2. If you were satisfied with the previous Urban Decay legends, you’ll definitely love this one too. The shades are gorgeous. Naked 3 features three matte shades and nine shimmery shades. Strange, Dust, Burnout, Limit, Buzz and Trick are the first six shades in this palette and perfect for ladies (or men, I’m not judging) who like lighter, cool-toned shades. The other half of Naked 3 consists of the shades Nooner, Liar, Factory, Mugshot, Darkside and Blackheart (love the cheerful theme Urban Decay has going on here) and are definitely deeper, darker and more warm-toned. It’s impossible not to love the variety of shades Urban Decay offered with Naked 3!
If there’s something wrong with this otherwise perfect palette, you ask? Yes. Even though I’m a lover of everything in the Naked series, it keeps having the same flaws over and over again. I’ve seen it in Naked 1, Naked 2 and again in Naked Basics. The lighter shades are distinctly less pigmented than the darker ones. It’s a minor error that I don’t mind – I either keep adding on the color until I’m happy with the shade and/or spray some Fix+ from MAC on my brush. Some shades are also clearly more powdery which means more fall out. A solution? Use a fan brush. Boom, lawyered!
Naked 3 indeed is a must-have for beauty lovers. Welcome to my Naked family
(thank God for that capslock, huh?), little one!
What do you think of Naked 3? Is it a must-have or a pass on? Tell me what you think in the comments.
