If you can’t imagine days going by without a kick-ass work-out, you probably considered adding a protein shake to your diet at some point. It could be a huge benefit as the lack of protein in workoutaholic’s life results in the slower healing of muscle tissue and could therefore lead to injury. I decided to go for it and order ProteinWorld’s Whey Protein Concentrate.
“But Raya, do I need extra protein?” You probably will want to know before reading this first impressions. First of all, I advice you to go see your doctor and ask his opinion. That’s always the safest way. An other option is just Google it. There are tons of advanced online quizzes which ask you about your work-outs + eating habits and give you a thought about whether you can benefit from a whey shake.
Let’s do a quick first impressions!
✔ THE TASTE – I choose vanilla. It tastes amazing. If you mix it with water, it tastes like a yummy light-version of a milkshake. If you mix it with (skimmed) milk, it tastes like a milkshake sent from heaven.
✔ THE PACKAGING – Why is this important to me? I want my whey in the most practical, sturdy and hygienic packaging possible. To me, the ProteinWorld tub scores pretty high in these ranks.
✔ THE DESIGN – I’m a slave of the marketing. Even though my rational mind tries to block this kind of thinking, I’m a sucker for a nice design. ProteinWorld nailed it!
✔ THE PRICE – A tub of 1,1kg whey protein costs €40. Real talk here. It’s pretty expensive, even for whey, but you do get a high-quality product, a tub that will probably last for months. Worth it? I don’t know. Post-buying regret? No.
Have you ever tried protein shakes? What do you think of them?
