One of the things I find absolutely brilliant about the UK is how they’re at the top of the game in the matter of second-hand shopping, charity shops and ridiculously big outlets. Not long ago I had the pleasure to visit Southampton for the first time and while strolling around its little English streets, we stumbled upon TK Maxx. Imagine this — a huge outlet store with literally thousands of brands, all things shiny and new. So naturally… I walked out with both a big smile and a big bag. Oops?

Let’s start with a bang. My heart skipped a beat when this beauty of a limited edition gift set from W7 Cosmetics caught my eye. By the way, why is this called a “gift set”? Who gives this away? Yeah, it’s a gift alright. A gift to myself.
Anyway, from my sass act back to this class act. The W7 Glam Box contained three absolutely gorgeous palettes. First of all, there’s the famous Naked 2 dupe, the In the Buff palette. I’ve read amazing things about this and while I have to admit that I haven’t had the time to try it out, I’m already crazy excited about it. Next in the Glam Box set is The Cheeky Trio. A palette with a bronzer, a blusher and highlighter. To be honest the swatches aren’t that great but I can definitely work with that bronzer/blush combo. The last thing in the limited edition set was the Midnight Smokey Shades palette — an eye palette with 1 gorgeous silver shade, 3 purple shades and 2 eggplants. So excited to try this one out, too. The swatches look promising!

Rewind to four years ago when the Stila lip products started popping up on YouTube everywhere… I remember seeing the lip glazes in the tutorials from Kathleen Lights and thinking by myself ‘I need to try these things’. Of course I never got around trying them, you couldn’t get these puppies here in Belgium. In TK Maxx you had so much choice when it came to Stila products. It was crazy! This lip glaze trio looked very promising to me. I like the simple colors and I think they’re very ‘me’. These peach and pink shades are from the elegant emerald collection!

Time to confess — I hate doing my nails. I don’t have the time nor patience and even after 8 days, 5 hours, 2 ice ages and a blood sacrifice during a blue moon it just DOESN’T dry properly. So, I rather go to a talented friend, have a good chat and let her do my nails over a glass of white wine. However, what I do like to do once a while, is pimping my gel nails with a topcoat. These two shades from Ciaté are perfect for autumn and winter and they will look awesome on all black nails!
Left paint polish is the color Brocade Parade, right paint pot is the color Ride My Rocket.
I already gave it away slightly but I’m very enthusiastic about this store. If you ever find yourself shopping in England, be sure to pay a
visit to a TK Maxx! No regrets.
